Bret Benham, FLMI, CLU, recently joined Ameritas as senior vice president of the retirement plans division. Benham is responsible for the division’s overall strategy and direction.
Benham brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, he served as chairman and CEO of Confluent Solutions Group, LLC, a consortium of professionals representing financial disciplines and expertise in Charlotte, N.C.
He is a graduate of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, where he earned a B.S. degree in business administration and his MBA. He holds the industry designations of Fellow, with distinction, Life Management Association, Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant and Health Insurance Associate.
Joshua Everett recently started as vice president – information technology. In this role for the information technology execution office, his responsibilities include departmental planning and budgeting, communication, cost accounting, metrics and measures, project management and quality.
Everett has 16 years of experience in design, development and delivery of software solutions in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Ameritas, he served as the chief information officer and project management office director for Dell – Insurance Services BPO Division.
He earned his B.S. degree in information systems management from Doane College, Lincoln, Neb., and his A.A.S. degree in computer programming from Milford Southeast Community College.
Jennifer Wooster was promoted to vice president – group actuarial and compensation. In her new position, she is responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of all variable compensation programs within the group division and assisting in the division’s key projects and overall financial management.
Wooster joined Ameritas in 1997 as an actuarial assistant and most recently served as second vice president – group actuarial operations.
She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. degree in actuarial science. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member the American Academy of Actuaries, Nebraska Actuaries Club and United Way’s Women in Philanthropy steering committee.
Heather Anschutz joined Ameritas as second vice president and associate general counsel – group division. Anschutz is responsible for the group division’s legal services, research and counsel on legal questions, regulations and issues.
She joined Ameritas after nine years of private practice at a large national firm.
Anschutz received her occupational therapy degree from the University of Kansas School of Allied Health and her law degree, with a healthcare law concentration, from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
She is a member of DRI’s Medical Liability and Health Care Law committee and local bar associations.
