Best Company, recognized among the top authorities in analyzing insurance companies, has revised the outlook to positive from stable and affirmed the financial strength rating of A (Excellent) and issuer credit ratings of “a+” for Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. and Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. of New York.

In a statement released by A.M. Best Company, the rating agency noted the organization’s solid balance sheet strength, strong GAAP operating performance, favorable business profile and increasing ordinary life insurance sales in recent periods. The statement also commented on Ameritas Life’s well-established market position in group dental insurance.
The report stated, “A.M. Best believes that Ameritas Life’s favorable business profile should strengthen further under its unified brand strategy and improved economies of scale. It’s broad portfolio of individual life, individual annuity, disability income, retirement plans and dental and vision products provides a steady source of diversified income.”
