23rd Annual Concert on the Green Features Cincinnati Pops Orchestra 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 27, at the Union Central Life Campus
July 9, 2012//Forest Park, Ohio//A memorable, musical summertime tradition continues with the 23rd Annual Concert on the Green hosted by The City of Forest Park, Union Central Life and Ameritas Life. The concert once again will bring the renowned Cincinnati Pops Orchestra to the front lawn of Union Central for a delightful evening of music free to the public at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 27.
For 23 years Union Central’s spacious campus at the corner of Waycross and Mill Roads in Forest Park has provided the perfect outdoor setting for this annual event. Concertgoers can spread out their blankets and enjoy a summer evening with family, friends and the sounds of the orchestra. Plenty of free onsite parking is provided.
The grounds will open at 5:30 p.m. for family picnics and pre-concert entertainment. Conductor John Morris Russell and the Cincinnati Pops will present a wonderful night of world-class musical entertainment from their extensive repertoire. And, returning this year to entertain children and family members will be Magician Matthew Brian Taylor of Mason, who performs his illusions across North America and Europe.
“Concert on the Green has been a Forest Park tradition for the past 23 years,” said Steve Valerius, president of Union Central Life. “Partnering with the city to host this event demonstrates the sense of community that makes Forest Park a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
