LINCOLN, Nebraska (July 29, 2022) – Ameritas will bring together all Lincoln operations at its O Street home office campus in 2023, President and CEO Bill Lester announced today. The home office at 5900 O St. also will be remodeled to better support associates working in a modern hybrid setting while preparing for continued growth in an evolving business environment.
Additionally, approximately 20 hybrid and office-based associates working in the Ameritas customer contact center in Wayne, Neb., will become remote and the building Ameritas owns in Wayne will be listed for sale. Options for the building Ameritas owns in Lincoln’s Fallbrook area will be evaluated. No organizational restructuring is included as part of this initiative.
“Bringing all our Lincoln-based associates together on one campus will create great benefits,” Lester said. “We can strengthen and energize collaboration among teams and business units and make better and more efficient use of our flagship facility here in Lincoln. We also look forward to renovating the home office into a modern and flexible working environment, demonstrating our determination to continue growing and winning in this changing market.”
Floorplans and workspaces in the home office will be reconfigured and updated with today’s best practices in mind, beginning this year and continuing into 2024.
Today’s announcement follows a review of use patterns at office facilities in six states since Ameritas introduced a flexible workplace strategy over the past year called Flex@Ameritas. Though some Ameritas associates work in the office full time, many now work remotely all or part of the time, resulting in decreased facilities occupancy.
“Flex@Ameritas transformed how and where we work,” Lester said. “Rethinking how we use our spaces is a natural next step and the right thing to do, as we invest in our future and make the best use of our resources.”
Besides Lincoln, Ameritas has corporate offices in Cincinnati, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, Jacksonville, Fla., and Minnetonka, Minn., as well as smaller offices around the nation.
