Pat McGuire earned degrees at Trinity College and Georgetown University Law Center. She has served as the president of Trinity Washington University for over 30 years.

She serves on the board of directors for the Ameritas Mutual Holding Company and Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. McGuire is a member of the Ameritas Nominating and Corporate Governance and Ameritas Audit & Risk committees.

McGuire serves on the board of directors for the Cafritz Foundation and Faith in the Future Foundation. She also serves on the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Washington Metropolitan Consortium of Universities and is on the advisory board for the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital.

She was awarded honorary doctorates from Georgetown University, College of New Rochelle, College of St. Elizabeth, Howard University, Chatham University and Emmanuel College. She is also a Hesburgh Award recipient from the TIAA Institute, the Carnegie Award for Academic Excellence and the NAICU Paley Award.

McGuire was awarded the 2007 Leader of the Year by the Greater Washington Board of Trade and was the 2006 recipient of the Women Who Mean Business award from the Washington Business Journal. Washingtonian Magazine named her Washingtonian of the Year in 1993 and has listed her among the “100 Most Powerful Women in Washington” and “150 Most Powerful People in Washington.”
