Andra Grava receives International DI Society’s highest honor

The International DI Society honored Andra Grava, CLU, RHU, as the recipient of the W. Harold Petersen Lifetime Achievement Award at its 20^th annual conference in Nashville, Tennessee in October.

Awarded annually, the W. Harold Petersen Lifetime Achievement Award is IDIS’ highest honor. IDIS members are nominated for the award by their peers and the recipient is selected by a committee of IDIS Board members and previous award winners.

This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated dedication to their field of expertise in disability insurance, exhibits leadership in their professional life, and most importantly has made a distinct contribution to the disability insurance industry.

“Andra has dedicated his long career to the income protection industry with admirable success and leadership. Mr. Petersen’s innovation and leadership skills were admired throughout the industry, and I believe he would be proud to see Andra’s name added to this prestigious list of innovators and servants,” said nominator Mike Evans of ME Advisor in Allen, Texas.

About Andra Grava

Andra Grava is the general agent for The DI Center in Allen, Texas, an agency that traces its roots back to 1996 when he became one of the first individual disability insurance-focused general agents in the country.

Grava is an active member of industry associations including the Dallas chapter of National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals, Financial Planning Association, General Agents and Managers Association, and NAIFA-Dallas. He is a past president of the Dallas chapters of NABIP and NAIFA and the Texas Leaders Roundtable. He speaks to industry and professional groups both locally and nationally on topics of disability insurance, sales, and practice management.

He is active in community and church activities and is a member of the Allen-Fairview Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Kathy, enjoy traveling and are avid sports fans. They have two grown children and a grandchild.
